The Silicon age

Silicon has been so important for the progress of humanity, that our era has been named “The Silicon Age”, starting during the late 20th century and continuing to present day. This is due to silicon being the dominant material responsible for humanities development. The Silicon Age was preceded  by Stone Age, Bronze and Iron Age, all named for the dominant materials during humanity’s ages of civilization.
